MOORFIELD PRIMARY OUTREACH

SCHNEIDER ROAD, BARROW

Our primary outreach centre caters for young people who may find the mainstream primary setting difficult to cope with. Through liaison with the young person's school, we support learners to develop their literacy and numeracy skills.

We take a unique approach to learning at our primary hub by spending a significant amount of time outside the classroom. Through various outdoor activities, we provide a hands-on learning experience that connects students with their local environment.

  • Experiential Learning: We believe in learning by doing, and we provide practical, real-world experiences to enhance academic knowledge.
  • Nature Exploration: Our learners have the opportunity to explore and appreciate the natural world, fostering a sense of environmental awareness.
  • Community Engagement: We actively engage with the local community to instil a sense of social responsibility in our young people.

A Warm and Inviting Environment

Our Primary Learning Hub is a very special place, designed to foster a love of learning from an early age. This vibrant and engaging environment is filled with colourful displays, interactive learning stations, and quirky additions that capture the imagination of our youngest pupils.

Tailored Support and Enrichment

The Primary Hub is staffed by a team of experienced, caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of each child. Through a combination of one-on-one support, small group activities, and targeted interventions, we ensure that every learner receives the personalised attention they require to thrive.

Nurturing Creativity and Curiosity

In addition to a focus on functional literacy and numeracy, the Primary Hub offers a range of enrichment opportunities that encourage our learners to explore their interests and develop their talents. From art and wellbeing workshops to outdoor learning experiences, we strive to create a well-rounded educational experience that sparks the curiosity and creativity of our young people.

Fostering a Sense of Community

At Moorfield Learning Centre, we believe that a strong sense of community is essential for the well-being and success of our pupils. The Primary Hub serves as a hub of activity, where families are welcomed and encouraged to participate in school events and celebrations. By fostering these connections, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers our pupils and their families.

Preparing for the Future

As our primary pupils progress through their educational journey, we work closely with them and their families to ensure a smooth transition to the secondary phase of their schooling. Through targeted support and a focus on developing essential life skills, we equip our students with the tools they need to thrive, both within our school and beyond.
